Child Dental Benefits Schedule?
Accepted by Total Care Dental Studio, the Child Dental Benefits Schedule commenced on the 1st of January, 2014 providing access to benefits for basic dental services to children 2-17 years of age. The total benefit entitlement is $1000 per child over a 2 year calendar period. The CDBS is means tested which requires receipt of either Family Tax Benefit A or any other eligible Australian Government payment. Notification of eligibility is usually sent out electronically or via post to the child/children’s parents and or legal guardian.
The Child Dental Benefit Schedule provides a range of individual services including but not limited to, examinations, X-Rays, cleaning, fissure sealing, fillings, root canals, extractions and partial dentures. Benefits are not available for cosmetic and orthodontic work and cannot be paid for services provided within a hospital.
To check your child’s eligibility, please contact Medicare or contact our friendly team with your Medicare Details.
Fissure Sealant
Fissure sealant is a procedure mostly commonly done on children when their first adult molars come through. It prevents decay forming from bacteria that gets caught in the pits and fissures on the molar teeth where the toothbrush is unable to easily reach. The procedure is very straight forward and pain-free. It’s simply done by filling the pits and fissures in the molar teeth.
Orthodontics
During your child’s check-ups, we also keep a close eye on the emergence and alignment of new teeth. Our dentists will advise the best timing and treatment options if possible orthodontic treatment is required in the future. At Total Care Dental Studio, we offer orthodontic treatment as well as general dentistry. This allows you to have all your dental issues resolved under one roof. Please see more information here.
For more comprehensive cases, we are also happy to write you an Orthodontic referral upon your request.
